[FR] Une nano-cache destinée à revenir sur l’historique de ce jardin qui sert de cadre à nombre de photos emblématiques de Limoges. Une vue de carte postale, donc, que vous ne manquerez pas d’immortaliser.
C'est ici également que j'ai commencé mon aventure de geocacheur et c'est donc l’occasion de faire un clin d’œil à la plus grande organisation régionale de géocaching en France "Tèrra Aventura" (www.terra-aventura.fr) qui, il y a un an jour pour jour, m’a fait découvrir cette activité et qui m’a permis de signer ma 500ème découverte le jour de la pose de cette cache et bientôt la 500ème découverte des mes caches posées …
Le Champ de Juillet est un jardin public de près de 3 ha jouxtant une surface de parking de plus de 2ha. Avant l’arrivée du train dans le quartier, ce secteur de la ville était encore assez campagnard et occupé par l’abbaye de St Martin Lez Limoges, futur couvert des Feuillants. Devenu plus tard le « Champ de Mars » pour y accueillir le 9ème régiment de chasseurs, il prend le nom de « Champ de Juillet » à la révolution de 1830. La ville en fait l’acquisition en 1858 et y organise un temps l’ « Exposition du Centre de la France » puis la « Foire exposition de Limoges ». Cette manifestation a ensuite migré vers le parc des expositions.
Cette même année, le paysagiste Eugène Bühler, créateur du parc de la Tête d'Or à Lyon, est chargé de réaménager complètement le Champ de Juillet afin de permettre la création d'une promenade publique. Le 5 juin 1859, le nouveau jardin est inauguré. Il sera ensuite réaménagé par Roger Gonthier, architecte de la gare.
Le jardin a perdu ces dernières années ses bosquets de magnolias que la municipalité s’est résolue à couper pour éradiquer les activités peu recommandables qui y avaient pris place. C’est maintenant un parc où il fait bon se promener en famille et s'y tiennent désormais l'annuelle fête foraine d'hiver et le salon Lire à Limoges. Le feu d'artifice du 14 juillet y est tiré chaque année, la veille au soir de la fête nationale. Belles vues de nuit également avec les illuminations et les jets d’eau.
Pour trouver la cache, il vous faudra trouver quelques indices (faciles) :
Indice A : combien de bassins avec jet d’eau voyez-vous depuis le point de référence (nombre pair)
Indice B : combien comptez-vous d’horloges sur le campanile de la gare depuis le point de référence ?
Indice C : le Comité Régional du Tourisme Limousin a lancé récemment un grand projet de géocaching gratuit destiné à faire découvrir les trésors naturels et historiques cachés des départements de la Creuse, de la Corrèze et de la Haute-Vienne : Tèrra Aventura. En quelle année a été lancée la première saison de Tèrra Aventura ?

Indice D : des personnages peu recommandables sont venus perturber les aventures des géocacheurs Tèrra Aventura : les Badpoi'z. Combien sont-ils (à la date de leur première apparition, nombre impair) ?
Indice E : à la date de pose de cette cache (été 2013), combien le jeu compte-t-il de Poi'z (petits personnages gardiens des caches Tèrra Aventura), Zécolo compris (nombre impair).
Si des indices vous manquent, traversez le Cours Gay Lussac (à votre gauche lorsque vous regardez la gare). C’est au N° 30 que demeurent les Grands Sages de Tèrra Aventura (Maison Régionale du Tourisme). Entrez avec un grand sourire et ils pourront certainement vous aider à trouver les indices manquants tout en vous renseignant sur les activités de géocaching en Limousin.

It is here also that I began my adventure of geocacher and it is thus the opportunity to give a wink to the biggest regional organization of geocaching in France " Tèrra Aventura " ( www.terra-aventura.fr ) which, one year ago to the day, made me discover this activity and which allowed me to sign my 500th "discovered" on the day of the installation of this hiding place and soon the 500th find of my own caches …
The Champ de Juillet is a public garden of about 3 ha adjoining a surface of parking of 2ha. Before the arrival of the train in the district, this sector of the city was still a part of countryside and occupied by St Martin Lez Limoges's abbey, future convent of Feuillants. Become later "Champ de Mars" to welcome the 9th regiment of fighters there, it took the name of " Champ de Juillet " (Field of July) in the revolution of 1830. The city purchases it in 1858 and organizes the " Exhibition of the Central France " then the " Trade show of Limoges " there. This fair then migrated to the exhibition center.
The same year, the landscape architect Eugène Bühler, the creator of the Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon, is in charge of reorganizing completely the Champ de Juillet to allow the creation of a public walk. On June 5th, 1859, the new garden is inaugurated. It will then be reorganized by Roger Gonthier, architect of the railway station.
The garden lost these last years its copses of magnolias which the municipality resolved to cut to eradicate the activities disreputable which had taken place there. It is now a pleasant park where to walk in family and are hold now an annual winter carnival and the fair Read in Limoges. The firework of July 14th is pulled from here every year, the previous evening of the national holiday. Beautiful views also at night with the illuminations and the fountains.
To find the hiding place, it will be necessary to find some (easy) indications:

Figure C : the Regional Committee of Tourism Limousin launched recently a big project of free geocaching intended to make discover the natural and historic treasures hidden in the departments of Creuse, Corrèze and Haute-Vienne : Tèrra Aventura. Enter with a big smile and they will certainly be able to help you to find the missing indications while informing you about the activities of geocaching in Limousin.
