This is a hard climb. even longer and harder from the east side. Easy to find once you get there. Bring lots of water, make this hike in the spring or fall. Summer is too hot and winter may have snow.
I first visited this point more than 10 years ago. The ammo can had been there for more than 10 years prior to that. I can't take credit for placing it. I placed a notebook in the can as a log book a few years ago. The original log book has deteriorated and been placed inside a plastic bag.
This is a "leave something but dont' take anything" cache as this becomes a historical log. Only a few people have hiked up here, most of the people logged have been military pilots.
From this point you can see most of the training area that is used by the military to prepare for desert operations. Do not hike down the west side of the mountain, as you will enter the training area.
