This is a virtual three-station multicache. This way I have no
further task, unless they move the buildings :) The Turks occupied
Hungary for several hundred years and spent 150 years in Buda. Only
few memories are left but I will lead you to three of them. The
walk takes less than an hour.
1st stop: N 47°30.964' E 19°02.087' elev. 148m
Gül Baba Türbe. Gül Baba was a Turkish dervish (a militant monk),
who died in 1541 in the Buda Castle in the present-day Matthias
church, which was a mosque at the time. This building is his
mausoleum, built between 1543 and 1548. Turkish pilgrims came to
visit during the Turkish rule and in the 19th century. It is worth
to take a look inside. It is beautifully illuminated at night, you
can even see the crescent moon from Margaret bridge. The whole
hillside got its name from Gül Baba: Rózsadomb means Rosehill and
Gül means rose.
2nd stop: N 47°31.094' E 19°02.169' elev. 106m
This building is in a very sorry state, half hidden by an ugly
fence. I wonder if they will ever renovate it or if they are
waiting for it to collapse. As I did not find it in any guidebooks,
maybe it is just Turkish style.
3rd stop: N 47°30.660' E 19°02.291' elev. 122m
Several thermal baths in Buda date back to the Turkish era, this
one was built between 1565 and 1578. This is a thermal bath without
any hot water of its own: The hot water came from the present
Lukács bath (several hundred meters north from here, opposite the
2nd stop). But this bath was the only one inside the fortified
area: they wanted to have a bath even during a siege.

This is a virtual cache because it is situated in the heart of the
city. The only place fit for even a microcache is the first stop
but this would mean searching in a very littered area (often with
homeless guys around) and I do not want to show you the ugly side
of Budapest.
