Geocache Description:

Although you might be able to throw a stone and hit this small island from shore, you will need a canoe, kayak or small boat to reach this cache! The difficulty is set fairly high because the cache is hidden under rocks (as that's what the island is made from.) BTW, I wouldn't swim in this water and the rocks are very slippery.

(The spoiler hint can be decoded on the website and smartphones, but can't be read on many GPSr units.)

The cache location won't show up on a street map, but you can see it on a satellite view. There are two solar powered lights on the island.

Mimico Harbour is a man-made, wonderfully sheltered location for boating.  There are two yacht clubs in the harbour - Mimico Cruising Club and Etobicoke Yacht Club as well as the Humber College Sailing school and club.

Access to the harbour can be gained from Lake Ontario.  There is a nearby boat launch within Humber Bay Park West, and you could launch a canoe or kayak from Humber Bay Promenade Park or Mimico Linear Park to reach this island.

In the winter the harbour occasionally freezes over making access to the island where the cache is located possible, but I would never risk it.  The Toronto Police often use the thin ice conditions for training their rescue teams in the winter.
