This viewpoint is surprisingly low, 297m below sea level is certainly an ambiguous elevation for a viewpoint, but it is still towering above the 350m low surrounding, and enables a 360° panoramic view. It is named after Amir Philosof, a great lover of the desert and an extremely skilful person, who was killed during his service as a soldier in the IDF. To the west you can see the slopes of the southern parts of the Judean desert, and the opening of Nahal Peres.
To the north - Mount Sodom and the plain of Amiaz, followed by the evaporation pools of the Dead Sea works, and the factories. To the east: the kingdom of Jordan and the mountains of Moab, to the south-east the settlements: Ein-Tamar, and Neot Ha-Kikar, and to the south the valley of Tamar.
