O Pico Maçarico situa-se na parte Sudeste da Ilha do Porto Santo, numa área sobranceira à zona portuária. No topo é possível contemplar uma panorâmica geral da ilha. A designação deste pico poderá ter origem numa ave conhecida por Maçarico, que ocorre nas rochas junto ao mar.
Este pico eleva-se a 286 metros do nível do mar, sendo o acesso ao topo conseguido com alguma dificuldade. Devido ao tipo de piso, algumas passagens expostas e à subida final até ao cume, este percurso e a descoberta desta cache é exclusivamente para praticantes que estão habituados a caminhar em montanha, por piso irregular, por vezes escorregadio, subir e descer planos inclinados, tenham agilidade e destreza para superar obstáculos rochosos e não se impressionam com precipícios.
A Cache: Parta do local indicado para estacionar, siga pelo caminho de terra batida que desce ligeiramente e dirige-se a um ressalto, antes de começar a subida numa zona ampla que converge numa aresta mais ou menos estreita. No início da aresta encontra uma vedação que protege uma plantação de pinheiros, entre à esquerda para o interior da vedação e evite sempre passar perto de zonas expostas. Mais à frente volte a sair e siga no topo da cumeada até ao sopé do cume. A última parte tem de ser feita cuidadosamente na aresta, subindo com o apoio dos blocos rochosos. No topo e na descida igualmente muito cuidado.

The Cache: Start from the indicated location to park, follow the unpaved track that descends slightly and turns to a ledge, before starting to ascent in a wide area that converges on an edge more or less narrow. At the beginning of the edge is a fence that protects a plantation of pines, go left into the fence, and always avoid passing close to exposed areas. Further ahead, go back out and follow the ridge, to the foothills. The last part has to be done carefully on the edge, going up with the support of the boulders. At the top and on the descent has attention.
