Geocache Description:

This cache IS at the posted coordinates--a very pretty overlook on Cook Hill.

When we moved here from the Midwest a few years ago, I kept getting asked about all the rain we get and how can we live with it; so out of curiosity, I looked at my cache finds and discovered that I had hiked in the gorge every month of the year except June! That month has now been filled.  Since I don’t hike in snow or heavy rain (at least on purpose!), I know that for several days every month, we have weather that is nice enough for me to get out to hike in the gorge!

This is an easy challenge if you are a regular hiker.  It really only has ONE requirement.  You must have found (or placed) a gorge cache with a minimum 3.0 terrain difficulty every month. They do not have to be in the same year.  Attach a bookmark list of your qualifying caches (and the date you found them) or list them in your log. Someone with 12 gorge caches could qualify;  someone with 150 might not.

I have included my bookmark list for ideas.  There are many other gorge caches that I have not yet found that qualify.  As incentive, you may use this cache to fill in your last open month IF you find it during that month. Since there is at least one other cache you can find on the way up, I am guessing that you will have more than one gorge smiley for that last month!

Parking can be found along Cook-Underwood Road.  Since you will also want to find the caches that Mapking has placed along this somewhat unmaintained trail, you should read his trail descriptions and get a copy of his GPX.  It proved invaluable for our hike up Cook Hill.

There are several names already on the log. They are not claiming FTF honors--they helped me hide it and will log the cache when qualified. There is a small flashlight for FTF.  Please hide the cache well and try to keep everything in the plastic bags.  I am not convinced that the 21st century's version of the ammo can is completely waterproof.

Congratulations to Zombie Response Team for FTF. Your determination has made me smile several times over the past few months. WooHoo!!!!
