Du stehst auf einem Teil des industriellen Erbes der Stadt Starachowice. Früher wurde hier Eisenerz abgebaut, welches im Hochofen, welchen man noch in der Stadt besichtigen kann (jetzt ein Museum), verwendet wurde. Das Bergwerke hatte den Namen "Kopalnia Majówka IV" (Kopalnia = Bergwerk). Der Hügel besteht aus dem Abraum der Bergarbeiten. Im Wald in der Umgebung sind noch weitere solche Hügel sowie andere Gebäude zu finden die mit dem Abbau verbunden waren.
Der Abbau wurde 1970 eingestellt. Jetzt wird der Hügel von Spaziergängern und Schlittenfahrern und Skiläufern im Winter besucht.

You are standing on part of the industrial heritage of the city Starachowice. In former times iron ore was mimed here, which was used for the furnace in the ironworks which you can visit in the city (now a museum). The mine was named "Kopalnia Majówka IV" (Kopalnia = mine). The hill is made from the dead rock of the mining operations. In the forest around the area more such hills can be found and also buildings which were connected with the mining.
The operations were ended in 1970. Today the hill is visited by hikers and in winter by skiiers and people riding sledges.

Znajdujesz się w części przemysłowej spuścizny miasta Starachowice. Wcześniej wydobywana tu była ruda żelaza wytapiana w Wielkim Piecu, który został udostępniony do zwiedzania (obecnie jest tu muzeum).Kopalnia nazywała się "Majówka IV". Wzgórze zostało usypane z żużla - odpadu powstałego w procesie wytopu rudy. W lesie w pobliżu znajduje się kilka takich wzgórz oraz budynki związane z eksploatacją złóż.
Wydobycie zostało zakończone w 1990 roku. Obecnie wzgórze jest miejscem spacerów a w zimie użytkowane jest przez osoby jeżdżące na sankach oraz nartach biegowych.
