Geocache Description:

The cache is at the listed coordinates. Finding the cache should be straight forwards. Opening the cache to sign the log book however will be something of a challenge.

You will need to cut your own key to open the padlock. I have done exactly that to prove that it can be done. You will need a PEF key blank. If you go to a well known highstreet key cutters they will charge you about £5 more for such a key blank than if you go to a small indpendent outlet. I paid £2 for a blank but you can get them online for even less. Attached is a photograph showing the original key which you need to copy and a blank key.

ORIGINAL KEY IMAGE

I deliberately chose a key pattern that should be relatively straightforward to copy. The depth of the cutting is the most critical aspect. Please note that the entire key is reduced in depth as well as the obvious notch. To cut the key I clamped the blank in a vice and used a junior hacksaw a large file and a small file. Take your time remove a little at a time and repeatedly compare your cut key with the image. Remember you can always file a little more off you can't put it back. Good luck and be patient.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
