Geocache Description:

I placed this cache in memory of my brother Dave, who lost his long battle with ALS on July 15, 2010.  He loved this area so much that he had his ashes released on Fenton Pass.  The view is well worth the drive.  I share his love for this area which has a beauty all its own.  The cache is an ammunition box with kid appropriate swag.  The road is rough gravel and won't be accessible in the winter.

There are two ways to access this cache. One is from Worland. You take the 15 Mile RD until you see the Fenton Pass turnoff on your right. There is a sign showing the turnoff. Most of the road is gravel. There is one spot near the top that gets washed out and you would probably need a high profile or 4-wheel drive. It would not be a good idea to try this when the road is muddy. It is not accessible in the winter. The other way is from Burlington. You take the Burlington to Meeteetse RD. You need to cross the river on your left. There are only a couple of places to do that. There is a bridge that crosses on RD 5. You will then take a right onto Lane 40 1/2. Follow that along the other side of the river until you see the sign for Fenton Pass. The road is mostly graveled. You shouldn't need a four-wheel drive for this route. However, if it is muddy you shouldn't try it. It is not accessible in the winter. You can make the complete trip from Burlington to Worland over Fenton Pass.
