Welcome to Costa Rica! You are either visiting or a local, either way - the cache is for you! Not to hard to find. This cache is located near a Ficus tree on the grounds of the Best Western Las Espuelas.
LOGGING THIS CACHE? Please see below! The Chilamate Ficus Tree is a native tree to Costa Rica and we learned that it is not your normal tree. Usually there is a normal established tree that has the seeds deposited in or around the branches of the tree. The ficus tree begins to grown from the top down, with the roots wrapping down and around the original tree. Over time the roots overcome the original tree and the ficus tree starts to grow upward and outward.
They are very cool trees with lots of intricate roots and vine like root wrapping around that make it a very interesting looking tree. Enjoy the site, come check out the hotel, an inexpensive hub for you to stay if you are in the area.
Working with my local Geocaching maintenance team to get this cache replaced. In the mean time, please just take a picture of you and the cache and post it as your log of finding the cache! THANK YOU!
