Geocache Description:

This is a difficult cache requiring an 11 mile round trip paddle and tracking of your course along a winding bayou so you can get back.    The  water is flat but the cacher must be prepared for a long day with the potential for wind and current.

We went out on Picketts Bayou looking for the Lost River only to be stopped by a barnacle encrusted log jam not far from this spot.  Despite the setback, it seemed a good idea to commemorate the journey with a cache. Later we found the Lost River after a short hike.    This is one of the most remote places you can find within an hour drive from Houston and one few people have been to.  Situated between the Old and Lost rivers it is accessible only by boat.

The container is soda tube easily reachable from your kayak or canoe on a tree at the edge of a small inlet.   To get here launch at Picketts Bayou and paddle downstream.  Alternately you could launch at Old River-Winfree and go downstream to The  Cutoff. The distance is about the same.

Each person or group that finds this cache is invited to put a commemorative cache along their route as a remembrance and a FTF for the next seeker.

Congratulations to BaytownBert, Mudfrog, CacheControl and T-Bone on being the FTF expedition for this cache.
