Geocache Description:

The first stone henge to be discovered in Britain for a century... Please write an interesting log, not just TFTC or a cut and paste - I enjoy reading about your visit and it's very boring to get dull logs. Be inventive!

In 2009, a major pre-historic discovery was made on Dartmoor - what turned out to be a stone circle, a stone row, a ceremonial mound and ten burial cairns were found grouped in a shallow valley - dating from at least 4,000 years ago. In the early 1900's the valley was flooded to form Tottiford Reservoir in 1861 (Dartmoor's first reservoir), but in August 2010 South West Lakes Trust who own and operate the reservoir drained it to allow Channel 4's Time Team to perform an archaeological dig.

The site is about 300 meters on a bearing of 325' from this cache (Near to the "Top Totty" cache and probably underwater when you visit, although in high summer this reservoir sometimes drains to allow the rather indistinct features to be seen)
