A cache for hikers, nature lovers and all other visitors of the Vienna Prater.
Der Cache liegt entlang unser traditionellen Laufstrecke durch den Prater. Den Ort haben wir deswegen gewählt, da an dieser Stelle das eindrucksvolle Resultat eines Blitzeinschlages in einer riesigen Eiche zu erkennen ist. Im Juli 2012 zog ein Gewitter über den Prater hinweg und einer der zahlreichen Blitze schlug eben in diese Eiche ein und hat die Rinde in Streifen abgeschält. Der Baum scheint zum Glück diese Attacke recht gut überstanden zu haben.
The cache is located along our traditional jogging trail through the Prater. The place was chosen because at this spot you can recognize the results of a lightning that had hit a huge oak tree. In July 2012 a thunderstorm passed the Prater area and one of the numerous lightnings hit this oak tree removing parts of the bark from the top to the bottom. The tree obviously has survived this attack quite well.
