Geocache Description:


Bring a picnic and join me, Captain Panteras for the fifth annual Boat Only Event! 

The event will take place on Saturday 6th July at 11:00am and will end on the afternoon tide (that's around 17:00 for you land lubbers).

As has become tradition, the event is situated on the banks of the River Nene near the Historic village of Fotheringhay.
For those familiar with working in a Galley, BBQ's are allowed on the river side, provided the grass is not damaged.

As the name suggests, the event log is only accessible by Boat though, and it will be found at N52 31.432 W0 26.218 - so come prepared to paddle and get wet!

Possible Parking and launch points into the River are by Fotheringhay bridge N52 31.449 W0 26.317 where there is very limited parking or, if you would like a longer paddle, there are a few parking spaces and a launch point near Elton Boat Club, N52 30.703 W0 25.159

TB and Geocoin discovery and trades are welcome, but it's recommended they should be kept on shore - as very few of them actually float if dropped overboard!

 *PLEASE NOTE*
This event is held on and near the River Nene. Rivers can be dangerous places, please take care. Life jackets must be worn by all attendees venturing out onto the water.
