The church was built in 1846 by William White, the original church tower was removed in 1898, the current tower was built in 1928. The church closed in 2008 when building works in the region of £800,000 were required, the last service was on Christmas Eve 2006.

The waypoint takes you to the headstone of Alex Draper. Affectionately known as Alec, he was a traditional Romany Gypsy who travelled around Cornwall for 25 years before settling on his site at Chiverton Cross with his horse Bobby.
A true "gentleman of the road" Alec was seen as a friend to many local people.
