It was a stormy night. The road was pitch black. I was chilled to the bone and ironically had trouble keeping my eyes open. Sugar, lay by my side on the passenger seat, whimpering softly as each crack of thunder rattled the cab. I switched the radio on in attempt to drown out the clatter. Sunshine of Your Love was playing, one of my favorite Cream songs. I turned it up.
"We could both use some sunshine right about now, couldn't we girl? And how bout a treat?"
Her ears perked up.
"A sweet and low calorie snack, of course."
She growled. I quickly examined the side of the cup, that's the key to a fit and healthy life.
"Only 70 calories, that's perfect for a little munchkin like you."
I pitched her the yogurt container and she licked it clean in a matter of seconds.
"Make sure you get the sides real good."
Just as I put my eyes back on the road, a turbo shot out of nowhere! It seemed to skim the trailer. I could see the tail lights glow red, it spun and whipped around the front of my truck. I instinctively applied equal pressure to the brakes and the electro lever to prevent jackknifing. We slowly came to screeching halt. The cab's head lamps illuminated the dark culprit.
A pinkish orange Saleen S7 Twin Turbo? I look over at my companion.
"Did we just die and go to heaven?"
A 750 hp, V8 supercar!
"It can go 0 - 60 in 3.3 seconds! It has a top speed of 399 km/h--that's equal to 248 mph!" I excitedly declared.
Sugar began barking frantically. The door of the supercar shot upward and a short, round figure in black emerged. I picked up my trusty co-pilot and and climbed down to the road. The driver was adorned in a leather apron and a wide brimmed hat.
Silence.
He extended his arm and from a short pudgy finger, there dangled a key.
"It's getting near dawn, when lights close their tired eyes, go for a spin, she's yours, she's your dawn surprise.
