Geocache Description:

Listed coordinates are for the "Artisans' Gate." One of 20 gated entrances to Central Park. Each gate was named by Olmsted and Vaux, the park's designers, for the type of person they anticipated entering the park from that area. The cache is not there, but is in another area of the park. To find the actual cache, you will need to solve the puzzle below.

Artists get all the credit, creating their free form pieces with no constraint for usefulness or function, merely concerning themselves with form and aesthetic. Artisans on the other hand, are the workers who sit down to a skilled trade, creating work that is functional AND beautiful. Unlike artists, who may only ever creative singular versions of a piece, artisans must routinely recreate the same piece over and over, turning out sets of things like chairs, or matched furniture pieces. Sitting down at a wheel to turn out a dozen identical clay cups or pots might seem like child's play, but you try it! See if you can get a matching set of anything, much less time after time, day after day .Tracing a pattern over and over, with no deviation or alteration. It takes effort and practice and skill. Artisans are the ones who sit at the center and turn the wheels of commerce.

Below is the puzzle that will lead you to the cache, hidden near one of the greatest pieces of artisanry in Central Park. Nothing here, but I like your thinking!
