Geocache Description:

This is a free event!

Anyone is welcome to attend this event, free of charge. However, if you are planning on attending, you must post a "Will Attend" log stating your intention to come. Please also include in your log the number of people in your geocaching party that will be coming.

This is Valemount's very first Geocaching Event! We will be releasing 50 new geocaches! Also, every registered participate will receive a Valemount, BC  Geocoin (limit 2 per family).
 




Welcome Reception

If you are coming in the night before please join us at the Welcome Reception. Complimentary appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be available. Door prizes! Musical entertainment: 7:00 pm –9:00 pm. Reception starts at 6:00 pm.

Registration

The official event will get started at 9:00 am sharp at the Valemount Visitor Centre. There will be an hour and a half for registration and the event will kick off at 10:30 am.

At the event, you will have the opportunity to sign the log book, view or share trackables, meet & greet with other cachers. There will also be a prize draw so be sure to enter the draw during registration. All prizes have been donated by local businesses.

Geocaches

The 50 geocaches will be all published the morning of this event. 
Volunteers will be on hand with laptops to assist with distributing the geocache lists which will be available in GPX form. If you wish, you may bring a laptop and load the caches onto your GPS yourself, or you can have a volunteer help you out. 

Geocaching Event Wrap-Up

At 6:00 pm we will do the prize draws. You must be in attendance to receive your prize. We will do it Saturday so that if people would like to leave early Sunday they can.  There will be some other activities Sunday if you wish to stay and participate. Also, take some time to explore the area or find more geocaches!
