Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed in 2013 as part of the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour - "100 caches in 100 parks to celebrate 100 years" - cosponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA).

From the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission: Jarrell Cove State Park is a 43-acre marine
camping park with 3,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on the northwest end of Harstine Island in south
Puget Sound. The forested island park is accessible by road and bridge and is o the beaten path. Most
visitors arrive by boat. The park has campsites near the docks, as well as on rolling, grassy areas.
Jarrell Cove State Park administers five other satellite parks including: Harstine Island, McMicken
Island, Stretch Point, Eagle Island and Hope Island State Parks. Harstine Island State Park is a day use
park with beach access via a half-mile trail. It is a two mile drive from Jarrell Cove. The other satellite
parks are all accessible by boat only and offer buoys for moorage.

Many of the activities available at the park include:

  • Hiking/Biking
  • Boating
  • Diving
  • Fishing
  • Swimming
  • Volleyball
  • Horeshoes
The park was formerly an orchard before being acquired by the State. There are remnants of the orchard around to this day. In the main camping area, you can see several of the trees along with the original well.

The first waypoint will bring you to the well. This is where you will gather some pertinent information to finding the cache. Please do not tamper with the well while gathering your information! The rangers have asked us to highlight this area of the park because of its connection to the park's history.
A = Number of hex bolts located on the top of the well.
B = Number of letters in the well manufacturer's name
C = Number of hex bolts in the center of the well
D = Number of square head bolts on top of the well
