Geocache Description:

We've had such success with past events, let's do it again, and make more Wherigo cartridges in 48 hours! To see what a raging success these are, read the comments at the April 2013 event.

This is a game-creation event at the Simutronics offices, the location of the August 2012 and April 2013 Game Jams where several other Wherigos such as the following were all created in one weekend:

Doors open at 5 pm on Friday, then we'll form teams, and the theme will be announced at 6 pm. Games must be completed by 5:30 pm on Sunday. All geocachers are welcome, though for best results, we recommend that participants bring a laptop computer, preferably with one of the Wherigo-creation toolsets already installed and ready to go. Possible toolsets include:
Non-programmers are also welcome, since we'll have lots of non-programming tasks to do: Take pictures of waypoints, help with brainstorming, test on different GPS devices, and plenty of other tasks as well!  Participants are also welcome to work on other types of geocaches at the event, such as puzzle caches or complex multi-caches -- we will have mentors on-hand to help with design questions.

The premises for the event will be open for the full 48 hours, non-stop, though it is entirely up to each participant as to how much time they'd like to spend at the event. Most tend to come and go, usually going home to sleep on Friday and Saturday nights and then coming back in the morning. Some people like to just work through the night, so it's all good, just stick with whatever feels right. There will be snacks and meals provided, and there are plenty of other eating establishments nearby. Participants who need a computer must bring their own, as none will be provided. Artists just need to bring whatever materials they need (sketchpads, pencils, etc.), and then we can scan and digitize from there. For internet access, all participants will be able to connect to wi-fi, but there will be no wired internet access.

All skill levels are welcome, from experienced Wherigo creators to those who are brand new to the process but wanting to learn. In the past, we have found the best success with using Earwigo, a browser-based creation tool, since it allows for collaborative development, with multiple people all working on the same cartridge: One can be uploading art, another writing text descriptions, another defining zones, another handling the logic, etc.

Hope you can make it!
