Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour - "100 caches in 100 parks to celebrate 100 years." If you're participating in the GeoTour, be sure to stamp your passport with the ink stamp inside the cache to verify your visit. Please do not remove the ink stamp, it's required for the GeoTour.

The Washington State Parks GeoTour is almost over. All GeoTour caches will remain active through Sept. 30, and participants will have until Oct. 10 to submit passports for prize coins. More details.

Anderson Lake State Park is a remote day-use park of cedar, fir, and alder forest mixed with freshwater marshes. Surrounded by 410-acres of wooded and wetland, the park slopes down to the 70-acre Anderson Lake and abounds with birds and wildlife.

The park has several picnic tables along the lake shore, and several miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as a boat ramp. Fishing and horseback riding are also allowed.

You are looking for a large Lock&Lock container painted black.

Park hours: 8 a.m. to dusk. Closed Nov. 1, reopens the last Saturday in April. The cache is accessible (walk-in only) during the seasonal closure. Park outside the gate in one of the spots you'll find on the left just after you turn onto the park access road. It's a 1.5 mile round walk from the winter parking area to the cache. Don't be tempted to drive in off-season if the gate is opened for maintenance or by the private resident (you may be cited or locked in).

Thanks to yakimacacher for creating this cache and maintaining it during the first year of the GeoTour.

2013 was the 100th anniversary of Washington State Parks, and we've celebrated with the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour, a statewide challenge featuring 100 new caches placed on 100 State Park properties, with a commemorative geocoin for finding 50 caches (silver coin) and 100 caches (gold coin).

The Centennial GeoTour is sponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA) and Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (WSPRC). We hope you enjoy the tour!
