This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Geocache Description:

A very short multi- How close can you get?

This Cache:

Investigating one of a series of large-scale power outages, Indiana electrical lineman Roy experiences a close encounter with a UFO, when it flies over his truck at a railroad crossing. The UFO, along with three others, are pursued by Roy and three police cars, but the spacecrafts fly off into the night sky. Roy becomes fascinated by UFOs, much to the dismay of his wife, Ronnie, Roy starts geocaching and he also becomes increasingly obsessed with subliminal, mental images of a trestle-like shape and begins to make models of it. Jillian also becomes obsessed with sketching a unique-looking structure. Soon after, Jillian is terrorized in her home by a UFO encounter in which Barry is abducted by unseen beings. (This was before alien probing was popular, whew!)

Roy's truck stopped at a fateful train crossing

Witnesses report that the UFOs make distinctive sounds: a five-tone musical phrase in a major scale. Scientists broadcast the phrase to outer space, but are mystified by the response: a seemingly meaningless series of numbers repeated over and over [40227087456946]. That is, until Roy recognizes it as a set of geographical coordinates pointing to stage 1, near parking at the north end of Union street in Lambertville, NJ.

In the distance you may hear a strange five-tone musical train whistle in a major scale, if the rushing water doesn't drown it out. If you do run (please don't jump, this is a dangerous area) you are safe in the middle (well, semi-safe, if you take care.) We've supplied the tools necessary to communicate with the aliens and sign their log.

This Series:

This cache is part of the SPACE 2081: A Geocaching Odyssey challenge.

This challenge contains one cache of each difficulty and terrain combination, plus a final cache which can be found only after finding all 81 caches that are part of the series. Each of those 81 caches will contain a code, which you will use as part of the puzzle to solve the FINAL CACHE.

All the members of the space team are actual cachers who are remaining anonymous for the moment. You can find more info on the series, as well as a complete list of released caches HERE. Please do not post hints or spoilers in your logs. Also, each cache must be signed by any individual cachers going for the final.

Good luck, may the force be with you, live long and prosper.
