The cache is hidden with the permission of the land owner.
However, access time for the cache is from 9:00 to 18:00 only.

This is one of the many places where you can learn about the Okinawan pottery called "Yachimun".
History of the Okinawan pottery and the Yachimun no Sato.
In 1682, the Ryukyu King “Sho Tei” summoned many potters throughout the island to Tsuboya to expand the “Yachimun” (Okinawan pottery).
They promoted yachimun by creating it with the original Okinawan techniques and absorbing techniques from Japan and China. For many years, Tsuboya has been the origin of the yachimun. Even now of days, the “Yachimun Dori” (Pottery Street) is still lined up with many pottery shops.
However, as the population grew in Naha city, it was environmentally difficult to create yachimun within the densely housing area.
Therefore many of the potters moved the kilns to this place near the Zakimi castle ruins in Yomitan Village and called it “Yachimun No Sato” that means Home of the Yachimun.

沖縄の陶器、やちむんの里の歴史
１６８２年頃、琉球王朝の尚貞王は各地に点在した窯場を壺屋に集めて陶業の発展を図りました。
今まであった技術に加え、日本、中国各地の技術を吸収しながら焼き物の振興をはかります。
現在でも、那覇の壺屋には多くの焼き物やが軒を並べ、やちむん通りと呼ばれていますが、
近年になって那覇は住宅が密集してきたので、焼き物を焼くには環境的に無理が生じ、
窯場の多くは読谷村の座喜味城跡の近くにあるやちむんの里の方に移ってきました。
