Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed in 2013 as part of the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour - "100 caches in 100 parks to celebrate 100 years" - cosponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA).

Schafer State Park is a 119-acre camping park on the Satsop River, midway between Olympia and Ocean Park. A big attraction is the abundant fishing for steelhead, cutthroat trout, and salmon.

The original buildings near the posted coordinates are made of native stone, and the park was recently designated a state and national historic site by the Washington Heritage Register and National Register of Historic Places.

History:Schafer State Park was created in memory of John and Anna Schafer, who settled in the area in 1872. Their sons, Peter, Hubert, and Albert, formed the Schafer Bros. Logging Company, which, at its height, was one of the largest lumber and logging companies in the Pacific Northwest. In 1924, Schafer Bros. Logging Company donated the park to the State of Washington. From the 1920s to the 1940s, Schafer Bros. Company employees held their annual picnic in the park, with as many as 6,000 people in attendance.

The cache: The coordinates lead you to an informational kiosk sign on the edge of the parking lot. Do NOT look to the stone monument for the answers. The sign has a single paragraph that answers both questions. Take your time to read the questions carefully. "D" should be a gimme given the phrasing. This is meant to be an easy multi. Don't make it hard on yourself.
