Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed in 2013 as part of the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour - "100 caches in 100 parks to celebrate 100 years" - cosponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA).

Lake Easton State Park is literally a stone's throw away from I-90. If you've traveled between Snoqualmie Pass and Ellensburg, you have driven right past this park and likely didn't even know it!

This forested, 516-acre, year-round camping park has 24,000 feet of freshwater access on the shores of Lake Easton in the Cascade Mountain foothills. The park has beautiful mountain views and hiking trails to explore in the summer, and cross-country and snowmobiling trails to enjoy in the winter. Besides camping and hiking, the park also features outdoor activities such biking, swimming, fishing, and boating.

Winter access: Please take note of the Seasonal Access attribute. Since this cache is located in the Cascade foothills, there will be snow in winter. So be aware that the cache could be under varying amounts of snow from late November through April. If you visit this cache this between Nov. 15 and April 30, you must have a Sno-Park permit.

The cache: You are looking for an ammo can, painted brown. From Parking #1, the cache is 0.13 miles down the trail following the lake shore.  Once you get to the "point," which is where the two picnic tables are, the trail turns east and ventures up hill. The cache is hidden on the downhill side of the trail under a log. The cache is literally a few steps off the trail. No need to go past the logs and down the hill to get this cache. If you start from Parking #2, it's about 0.17 miles to the cache. Please do not block other vehicles at either spot, especially at Parking #1, which has limited space. There are spoiler pictures if you need additional help.
