HOBO CITO #4 - Girdwood Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Cache In Trash Out Event

Ya'll don't want to miss this! A brainstorm idea from the GeocacheAlaska! forums, we have strung together 4 CITO events from Homer to Girdwood for a fun-filled Geocaching weekend! Join us on the weekend of May 17-19 to help clean up SouthCentral Alaska. We will start out in Homer on Friday evening for a dinner and camp out followed by CITO events on Saturday in Homer and Soldotna, a second camp out at Hidden Lake (Cooper Landing) and then CITO events on Sunday at Hidden Lake and finally in Girdwood on GeocacheAlaska!'s Adopt-A-Highway section. A total of 7 separate events will guide you along the path of our Hobo Cleanup Crew.

HOBO CITO site #4 will be at the 2-mile stretch of the Seward Highway just west of Girdwood that belongs to GeocacheAlaska! under the Adopt-A-Highway program. Meet at the highway pullout at 2pm to sign in and register for door prizes. We will spend about 2 hours picking up any and all trash along the highway, meeting again at about 4pm to consolidate the trash for a photo-op and then draw for door prizes (must be present to win).

This final CITO site requires that we have a tail-gate safety meeting prior to starting and that everyone wear a safety-vest while working along the roadway. Per DOT rules, no children under 11 years old or dogs are allowed to participate in the cleanup.

Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend this CITO event, even if you are not going to travel with the crew to clean up all 4 CITO sites or participate in the 2 nights of camping. Many hands make light work. We look forward to seeing you there!
