Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed in 2013 as part of the Washington State Parks Centennial GeoTour - "100 caches in 100 parks to celebrate 100 years" - cosponsored by Washington State Geocaching Association (WSGA).

Triton Cove State Park is a 29-acre day-use park with 555 feet of saltwater shore on Hood Canal. This small park provides an ADA-compliant boat launch with access to near-shore fishing. Future plans include possible camping facilities.

Park History:
In the 1930s, the area was the location of a gas station and a small country store. After World War II, the area was developed as a trailer-park fishing resort with a boat launch. Though the property changed hands a few times, it remained a fishing resort until the state purchased it in two parcels in 1990. Since then, the boat launch has been rebuilt. The area continues to be upgraded and developed to include more features.

Park Hours:
Summer: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Winter: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The park is open year round for day use and watercraft launch.

The Cache: is a medium/small clear lock-n-lock. The original contents were an unactivated travel bug, hotwheel, Lego Star Wars minifigure, small Lego "friends" kit and a few other small trinkets. It's located in the parking area, if your arms are long enough you may be able to retrieve while still in your car!

Please do not remove the small stamp in the cache. This is part of the GeoTour and needs to remain in the cache.

Congrats to 'dutchgoers' for the FTF!
