Walk-in cache close to Oslo waterfront
Oslo wharf
At this place there used to be a series of small landing stages / piers for boats bringing goods and people to/from Oslo. Today, unfortunately, the area is covered with concrete and ashpalt. There used to be many small storage houses (sjøboder) and wooden piers, as well as a fish market (known as "Borkehullet"). You can see this as a square bassin ("Fiskebryggen") on the map below. Today, Oslo Havnelager (Oslo harbour storage) is situated on top of this bassin and the old storage houses. It's the 40.000 m2 large, 10 stores high building across the street. It was built 1916-1920 and used as storage until ca 1980. Since then, the building has been used as an office building.
