Walk-in cache along the Oslo Waterfront
Vippetangen
Vippetangen is the name of the southernmost point of Akersneset. The area got it's name after an old Vippefyr, which is a primitive, old type of "lighthouse" mounted on a lever arm to be raised and lowered by hand. Before the harbour was extended with concrete docks, the place had a natural rock and beach waterfront.
The cache is located on the east side of Akersneset. On this side of Vippetangen there used to be docks for the Amerikabåtene (The steam ships from Norway to America). Thousands of passengers have left Norway from this very point. Today, the ferries to Denmark call here a couple of times every day.
