[ITA] Bartolo Longo iniziò la restaurazione di una chiesa nell'ottobre 1873, promuovendo la festa in onore della Vergine del Rosario.
Nel 1875 Longo ebbe un dipinto della Vergine del Rosario da un convento di Napoli a raccolse donazioni per il suo restauro per esporlo nella chiesa.
I fedeli cominciarono a ricevere miracoli e un grosso flusso di pellegrini cominciò as affluire verso la chiesa.
Incoraggiato dal Vescovi di Nola, Giuseppe Formisano, Bartolo Longo cominciò la costruzione di una chiesa più grande: la prima pietra fu posta l'8 maggio 1876 e il 7 maggio 1891 fu consacrata dal Cardinale Raffaele Monaco La Valletta, in rappresentanza del Papa Leone XIII.
È stato meta di pellegrinaggi da parte di papa Giovanni Paolo II il 21 ottobre 1979 e il 7 ottobre 2003; di papa Benedetto XVI il 19 ottobre 2008 e di papa Francesco il 21 marzo 2015.
L'8 maggio e la prima domenica di ottobre, decine di migliaia di pellegrini affollano la città di Pompei, per assistere alla pratica devozionale della Supplica alla Madonna di Pompei.
L'accesso al cache è molto semplice, e nessuno vi ostacolerà, ma dovete farlo senza attirare troppo l'attenzione.

[ENG] Bartolo Longo started restoring a church in disrepair in October 1873 and promoted a festival in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. In 1875, Longo obtained a painting of Our Lady of the Rosary from a convent in Naples and raised funds to restore the image so as to locate it in the church.
Miracles began to be reported and pilgrims began flocking in droves to the church.
Bartolo Longo was encouraged by Giuseppe Formisano, Bishop of Nola, to begin the construction of a larger church—the cornerstone being laid on the 8 May 1876. The church was consecrated on the 7 May 1891 by Cardinal Raffaele Monaco La Valletta, representing Pope Leo XIII.
It was visited by Pope Johan Paul II on the 21 October 1979 and on the 7 October 2003, and Pope Benedict XVI presented his sixth Golden Rose to the shrine on the 19 October 2008.
Recently, it was visited by Pope Francis on 21 March 2015.
On the 8th of May and the first Sunday in October, thousands of pilgrims flock to the city of Pompeii, to attend the devotional practice of the Supplication to Our Lady of Pompeii.
Access to the cache is very simple, and no one will hinder you, but you must do so without attracting too much attention.
