Geocache Description:

The above coordinates will lead you to the church porch where you can find the answer to the first clue. Because of the proximity of the huge yew trees, the GPS was all over the place, but you should have no problem spotting it.

You are seeking a 35mm film pot in a camouflage bag hidden at the mystery coordinates below. Please re-seal both and replace carefully.
* You will need to bring your own pen*

Parish Church of St Mary The Virgin Stowting

Stowting is a village in East Kent within easy reach of the M20. Exit at Junction 11, Stone Street in the direction of Canterbury.

The church of St Mary is hidden behind Stowting Church of England Primary School. The narrow lanes can get extremely busy during the school runs and morning rush hour traffic. They are best avoided at that time of day.

To find the answer to the clues you will need to enter the churchyard through a gate at Stowting Primary School. You should be able to park on the road close to the gates. You will see a sign for the church opposite the gate, pointing directly into what, at first, appears to be the school playground. Once through the gate you will spot the church ahead of you. The answers will be found in the graveyard area, on the left hand side, not far from the 2 giant ancient yew trees.

The church is grade 11 listed and dates back to the 13th century and is still in regular use. It is constructed of flint with stone dressings. The North aisle and tower were added in 1857-68. The two ancient yew trees to the south of the church have been estimated to be over 2,000 years old. The church was unlocked at the time of our visit.

There have been three discoveries of Roman coin hoards within the parish and more than thirty 6th century Saxon burials.

Because there is another cache hidden close by, this cache had to be hidden a short distance along the lane at the following co-ordinates: N51º0B.ABC E001º 0A.ADE

The answers will be found in the graveyard area, on the porch side, not far from the 2 giant ancient yew trees.
