Geocache Description:

The church Micro series is intended to bring Geocachers to various churches all over the UK (and beyond). Some of these churches provide the backdrop of our communities history.

Please take some time to either read the cache page or visit the church.

St Margarets church is part of the Bain Valley group of churches.

The village was mentioned in Doomsday Book of 1086, when it had 11 households.

The church dates from the 13th century, and is a Grade II* listed building dedicated to Saint Margaret. It is built of a "patchwork" of greenstone, limestone and red brick. There is the base of a medieval stone cross in the churchyard, which is both Grade II listed and an ancient scheduled monument

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
