St Peters , is part of the Woodhall Spa group of parishes serving 6 parishes and 6 villages.
The church Micro series is intended to bring Geocachers to various churches all over the UK (and beyond). Some of these churches provide the backdrop of our communities history.
Please take some time to either read the cache page or visit the church.
Towards the end of the 18th century the stone church at the crossroads was too small to accommodate the growing population of the village. This was particularly the case in the summer when hundreds of visitors arrived for the spa season.
St Peter's was consecrated in 1893 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Edward King, Bishop of Lincoln and ever since, people have gathered here to worship God and to be encouraged to live a Christian life in the community. It was designed by a famous Victorian architect, Hodgson Fowler, and was built because the old parish church of St Andrew, only seating 190, was too small.
It was not until 1915 that St Peters was legally designated the Parish Church of Woodhall Spa in place of St Andrews. The church has strong links with the local community, and with the RAF.
