It has been a while since we've had a CITO event in the area, and the trash keeps building up. So, as a way to return the favor to the local land managers who allow us so many opportunities to cache, please join us at Spillway State Park on April 20, 2013 at 12:00 noon for a good old fashioned CITO event.
April 20 is the first day of the 2013 Groundspeak CITO (Cache In Trash Out) Weekend. We'll start the day by meeting at the posted coordinates, and the log-in sheet and other logistics will be available there. KDWPT is providing a daily Park Permit for Event Participants who don't already have one, so no need to worry about paying to work. These will be available at the check-in. KDWPT is also providing trash bags and we should have plenty of those. We will target the Spillway State Park-Cedar Ridge area, River Pond (PDF Map) and Rocky Ford areas (PDF Map). Logistics and a game plan will be made at the check-in.
Please bring gloves, boots, bug juice and sunscreen, bush-whacking gear, and whatever else you may need for a couple hours of cleanup. And don't forget your GPS, there's at least 30 caches in this area, and a Bookmark list has been included! We'll meet back at the check-in at 3:30ish for group pics, raffle and prizes, and a picnic. Water, plates, utensils, coolers, and a nice hot grill will be provided, so bring whatever you wish to reward yourself for a good day's honest work. We can stay and enjoy the evening for the rest of the evening.
