I'm sure it will have been impossible for anybody living around Dartmoor not to have been aware of the Whitehorse Hill Cist. Not only has it made the local news over the past few weeks, but it has also hit the headlines nationally. This cache has been hidden at a discreet distance from the cist but the position of the cist is no secret and you are free to approach and take photos. Please be aware that these stones are a protected monument and have been in place for between 4,000 and 6,000 years!
For full details of this story please refer to the Dartmoor National Park web site
IMPORTANT NOTE: This cache is within the Okehampton Military Range where live
firing occurs. You must check out the Firing Notices before entering the range. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE WHEN THE RED FLAGS ARE FLYING. Never pick up any metal objects, they may be unexploded devices.
