Geocache Description:

An EA Geomobbers' event to celebrate geocaching in all its many shapes and forms, held at the Pike and Eel in Overcote Lane, near Needingworth, St Ives.

Why Gallant Soldiers and Poppies?

Gallant Soliders and Poppies are technically both weeds (to be precise, annual broad-leaved weeds), but that the term wildflower is often given to some weeds just because they have been deemed more attractive. Thus the analogy can be passed onto caching. For many people some caches are mere weeds on the landscape, while others see them as wildflowers. The EA Geomobbers invite you to come and discuss the weeds and wildflowers in your backyard, and will ensure there are new weeds/wildflowers planted for the event.

Furthermore, the two weeds chosen are both war-related, giving a theme to the event, and making the weekend of the 27th and 28th of April appropriate (at least for me, nick_h_nz) because 25 April is ANZAC Day, the New Zealand Poppy day.

Someone will be in the pub with the logbooks at the very least between 1030 and 1730, and possibly earlier and/or later.
