Geocache Description:

The Lost Hare (GCG2ZC) will reach its landmark 10th birthday on Thursday, 9th May 2013.  To celebrate 10 years of the cache, we're inviting local cachers to a get together on the Painswick Beacon on the Saturday, 11th May.

As its 10th birthday arrives, The Lost Hare will be one of the 10 oldest active caches in Gloucestershire.

To mark the occasion (and with the help of the Internet Time Machine), we've reverted the cache page to be broadly consistent with how it appeared on its 3rd birthday in 2006. We'll also be replacing the current cache container with an ammo box, similar to the one used when it was first placed.

The event is an informal get together due to take place at the Painswick triangulation point between 12 noon and 2pm. With luck, the weather will have improved enough that cachers can bring a picnic (being very careful to CITO after themselves!) and enjoy the views that the Painswick Beacon affords. There is no official picnic area, so please bring a blanket or similar to sit on.

If the weather is not so good, cachers may want to book a table at the nearby Royal William pub for a good pub lunch.

The Painswick Beacon is easily accessible by bus.
