OLdweeb: As the hobby declines there are fewer visits. And I don't know how much longer I'll be able to travel around in the desert. Not finding any takers to adopt, I'm archiving this cache. As far as I know, Retrofit is still active. Cache On!!

Geocache Description:

The Wandering Heroes series is a community series dedicated to the men, women and children of caching and a chance to learn more about the names you see on logs.  Once you have finished the series, feel free to add a well thought out cache in the spirit of the series, dedicated to another Wandering Hero.

This cache is dedicated to Greg, Retrofit.  As of yesterday, 6/22/13, he had 657 straight days with a cache find and 1,259 FTFs!!  He's a caching machine!!  I've met him on the trail in Ventura and Los Angeles counties.  We exchange desert cache intel.  You'll see his name on most logs in the area.

Here's what he recently told me: "I seem to be getting known for my midnight cache runs every other night. What I call my "two for one cache dates" where i go out caching at 11 pm, find my first cache sometime before midnight and then continue till my last cache is just after midnight. TWO days of the streak calendar dates checked off on ONE trip. (after 500 days of geocaching there hardly any local caches near my house and with the burb getting 10 mpg.... guess you see the logic?) My current goal is no longer mass FTFs but one FTF (or more) for every calendar date, check my profile page. (only 50 days short of that) one other point is im currently working on a minimum of 5+ caches per calendar date. check my stats page (almost done... only missing 14 days before i start on 7 per date).
