Geocache Description:

Cleaning up the banks of the Charles River

CITO

(belated 11th Annual CITO Weekend on Earth Day 2013)

NOTE: Rescheduled Date!!! Saturday, April 27, 2013, 9am - 12pm, rain or shine!


Dealtry Memorial Pool
138 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472

There is some parking at the Dealtry Pool to the East. Yet, this might get filled fast by other participants, so if driving please plan to come early and accordingly. Carpooling with other cachers would be a great idea as well.
The pool is only a short walk from Watertown Square which has several bus lines run through there. Here is a link to the MBTA web site with a list of public transit options near the pool.

Gather up under my Geocaching Flag TB at 9AM SHARP!!!
Most everything you need for the cleanup will be provided at the starting coords: Bags, gloves, water, granola bars, etc.
Yet, you WILL get dirty, so dress appropriately, and wear good footwear. Maybe your garden gloves will help as well.

Please post your "Will Attend" log together with how many non-cachers will join you, and/or put this cache on your "Watchlist" for future updates about this CITO Event.

Also, please spread the word out about this CITO Event to other cachers.

Also afterwards, a cook-out will be held, where we can geo-mingle & exchange TBs as well.
Oh, don't leave early, as there will be "Raffle" prizes to be handed out!!!
So far, prizes will be an unactivated CITO Geocoin and an unactivated CITO Tag (Kind contribution from foragess. Thanks!), a few ready-to-hide Geocaches, and maybe more?


Update 2013/04/19:
Due to recent unfortunate and unforeseen events, the Cleanup has been be canceled for Saturday, April 20.
It has been postponed, and rescheduled for Saturday, April 27, 9am-12pm the following weekend.
Please re-submit your "Will Attend" logs, or unfortunate cancelation logs whenever possible.

Update 2013/04/24:
Also unfortunately, although negotiated with the Groundspeak HQ for a kind exemption for participants of our postponed CITO Event, there will be NO retroactive awarding of the 2013 CITO Souvenir. (GCHQ "consistency from a business perspective")
Sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment.

Update 2013/04/30:
Groundspeak has reversed their original ruling with regard to awarding souvenirs for to this CITO event. All attendees should already have the 2013 CITO souvenir.
