Geocache Description:

Set to coincide with the 11th International CITO weekend, for which a special Souvenir is promised for all those logging as Attended.

When: Saturday 20 April 2013, briefing prompt at 10am
Where: National Trust Bradenham Estate, HP14 4HF
Duration: About 3 hours

A CITO Event with a bit of a difference, as this one will involve some footpath clearance and maintenance on the National Trust's Bradenham Estate, between High Wycombe and Princes Risborough.

To get there, please use the published co-ords or post code above, and park sensibly on the village green between the road and the church. Do not park on the lane or in The Manor car park, and please do not obstruct any drives or farm access.

For Health & Safety reasons the numbers attending have to be limited, as the Rangers cannot cope with supervising more than about twenty individuals. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept under close control, as are children of ten and over under constant parental supervision; again for Health & Safety reasons no under 10 year olds, please – sorry!

We will be helping with some clearance and lopping of vegetation, so if you can bring your own loppers and/or bow saw that will be helpful, but secateurs are not likely to be man enough. Also gauntlets or stout gloves will be a distinct advantage, and working clothes and stout footwear essential. Some tools will be provided. Of course any litter found should also be cleared, for which rubbish sacks will be available.

There will be a briefing at the car park prompt at 10am, so please make sure you arrive in good time. Thereafter we will be walking to the work area (about 3-400 meters - note the terrain rating). Anybody who misses the briefing will not be able to take part! Hot and cold drinks will be provided, but if it's a hot day you may also want to bring your own water. Ladies in particular should be aware that there are no facilities available.

The event log will be available for signing at the end of the event, not before; in order to log as Attended you will be expected to be at the briefing and sign the log – any on-line Attended logs not complying are likely to be deleted, and you will not be awarded your Souvenir.

IMPORTANT: Because the event has to be limited in numbers, a line will be drawn when fully subscribed according to ‘will attend’ logs, so please only submit such a log if you are sure you will be attending, and say how many adults and how many children (10 years plus) will be in your party. Thereafter a reserve list will be operated in case anybody subsequently drops out.

This CITO Event will be followed by a normal Event at The Black Lion, Naphill (GC47H7K), running from 1.30pm until 4pm. That Event is open to all cachers, not just those attending this CITO.
