Cambus O’ May 3 : Queel Burn Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

gcuk: Cambus O May forest has been badly hit by Storm Corrie. The car park and trails are currently closed with the main tracks blocked in countless places. It will take major efforts to clear these trees and also all the hanging and caught up dangerous trees. The Cambus O May series of caches is therefore being archived and once the forest is returned to a safe condition in the future I will place a new series of caches round this forest. Thank you to all the visitors to my caches over the years in this lovely forest.

Geocache Description:

This cache used to be part of the Royal Deesiders Geotour. The Geotour has now finished and the cache is now part of GCUK's Cambus O May trail

This series of caches is based in Forestry Commission Cambus O’ May woodland and  utilises the Two Lochan Trail and the Pine Tree Trail - further details of these trails can be found at www.forestry.gov.uk/cambusomay

Caches 1,2,3 and 6 are located in the vicinity of the Two Lochan Trail.  All caches are in the vicinity of the Pine Tree Trail. On successfully finding all six caches, you will have the information necessary to find the bonus cache. Cambus O'May has lochans, bridges and winding trails through the Scots Pine on waymarked routes. These caches have been placed by the kind permission of the Forestry Commission and you should follow all information and warnings given on their signs in the car park. You should especially note that if you leave the paths and go into the forest during the spring and summer, to please keep your dog under very close control - either at heel or on a lead. This is to help protect capercaillie. The caches are all within 50 metres of the waymarked paths and tracks. The Queel Burn flows through this area is it tumbles down to feed one of the lochans.
