Ogopogo #14 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current Geocaching guidelines.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching.

Geocache Description:

Okanagan Lake has been home to one of the world’s most elusive sea monsters for well over a century.  Ogopogo (formally known as Naitaka) has been dodging evolutionary logic and camera lenses for years – can you find her?  Simply find all 35 “Ogopogo” caches and there’s a good chance she’ll make an appearance!

Each cache in the Ogopogo series is NOT located at the starting coordinates. Ogopogo is pretty sneaky, so start looking on this page to find that crafty serpent - the actual location for each cache may appear before your very eyes!

Almost every cache container is a small camouflaged lock and lock, with a few ammo-cans and micro caches hidden for good luck. Like Ogopogo, these caches are very kid friendly, so there are probably lots of goodies for trade!  Every cache container includes a pencil, although you are welcome to use your own pen if you prefer.

Terrain ratings for each cache vary, so please use caution and good geosense.  There are no hides that are near cliffs or on dangerous ground, so a majority of young children should be fine looking for each cache.  There are multiple routes to almost all of the caches, so if one way looks too difficult, there’s probably an easier route to GZ!

There is absolutely no need to go on private property to find any of the caches.  Please be respectful of private residences, wildlife, and as always, be muggle conscious.  It would be very much appreciated if each cache was hidden the way you found it.

Almost every cache location includes an amazing view of Okanagan Lake.  If you don’t see Ogopogo from one vantage spot, go on to the next.  Ogopogo is guaranteed to appear when all of the caches are found!
