Geocache Description:

Mega 2013 - Teddy Bears' Picnic

Where:
Riverside,
Stratford-upon-Avon,
Warwickshire
When:
Thursday 1st August

11am til 3pm

Join the 2013 UK Mega Committee for a family friendly afternoon by the river to have a picnic and lots of fun and games! All geocachers are welcome, especially if you bring your teddy bear friends with you . If your teddies are wearing their best clothes, they can enter our 'Best Dressed Teddy' competition!

Bring along your picnic blankets (and picnics!) so we can enjoy lunch and geo-chat together in one of Stratford's most picturesque spots, overlooking the River Avon and Holy Trinity church, where William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway are buried.

There will be a few games for everyone to enjoy, but feel free to bring along footballs, frisbees etc. to make the most of the wide open space and sunny skies (fingers crossed).

Suggested parking is at Riverside car park (see waypoint below) which is pay and display at approximately £1 per hour. If this car park is full, please follow the town signs to other nearby car parks. There is a childrens play ground very close to GZ which caters for all ages and even has a large outdoor paddling pool for the younger children. So don't forget swimming costumes, towels and sun cream!

Why not make a full day of it in Stratford? Perhaps take the chain ferry across the river to visit Holy Trinity church where Shakespeare was baptised and buried. Or maybe hire a rowing boat for an hour and see an alternative view of Stratford from the water. Stratford Butterfly Farm is right next to the car park and well worth a visit, especially if the weather takes a turn for the worse!
