Geocache Description:

Located at Bluff Fort in Bluff, Utah.  This area is full of interesting places to explore.  Many colorful buttes and scenic spots.  Anasazi Indian ruins and rock art abound. You will absolutely enjoy your time here!

Bluff Fort is the location of the original settlement of the Hole in the Rock Pioneers in April, 1880. They made a journey from west to east in Utah territory, traveling in the cold of winter to colonize this remote land in the Four Corners area.  The terrain was so rough that they only averaged 1.8 miles a day taking much longer then originally hoped.  No lives were lost and 2 babies were born along the way.  After you find the cache be sure and visit the cabins and the visitor center. The self-guided tour is free and all are welcome.
