A mystery cache, set near to one of the newest church buildings in the West Country. The cache is NOT at the listed co-ordinates but is nearby. When it was being constructed, everyone watched the unusual form take shape. It was certainly a local mystery. The church doubles as a Pre-school and conference hall as well as the focal point for Christian worship. The co-ordinates are next to the church. The road can be quite busy so take care with parking..
The Community church, of Soundwell Christian Fellowship, began life in 1912. During this time Blackhorse Christian Fellowship became part of Soundwell, and in 1990 Soundwell was joined with Bristol Christian Fellowship. Together, and under the banner of Bristol Christian Fellowship, the church has sought to serve the local area.
In September 2009, the Soundwell congregation changed its name to Resound and began meeting as a church in a local Primary School. The old church building was demolished and construction began on the new RESOUND building. The new facilities and quite stunning church building opened its doors in March 2012. The new two storey building comes complete with a huge glass atrium and a tall curved roof.
Built by Cowlin Construction and costing £1.4 million, it is certainly very different from Medieval church designs.
