Geocache Description:

This cache is in Cross Creek County Park in western Washington County. Take PA Route 50 west from Hickory towards Avella to the little town of Woodrow, Turn left on Old Ridge Road, park at the parking lot near the covered bridge: coordinates N40° 15.580 – W080° 22.660. Head west down the old road on the north side of the lake.

You can count on a 30-minute hike up to the cache. Take your time and enjoy the wildlife. This cache is hid very well so it may take some diligence. Please make sure it is not visible when you leave because this park is hunted very heavily in the fall, small game and deer seasons. It will be very wise to use the topozone.com link and print out the topo map to help plan your route, keeping in mind that the property immediately to the north and west is posted.

I grew up in the area and have hiked, fished and hunted most of this beautiful, unimproved park with 2800 acres of land and a 250-acre lake. The terrain is a mix of rolling hills, open farmland and medium thick woods. Although it may be more challenging than most, this cache is an enjoyable hike that was accomplished easily by my five and seven year old daughters.

The cache is in a clear 2 quart Rubbermaid container with a white screw on lid. This cache is in Cross Creek County Park in western Washington County.
