The time has rolled around for the CITO at the cave again. The event is from 1:00 pm until 4:00 but if anyone is interested I can grill the hot dogs at noon again. Meet at the Birch River meeting room behind the visitors center-you can't miss it. I personally feel it's my way to give back a little to The Lost River Cave for all it has done for the caching community. I can honestly say that anything I have asked for they have eagerly given me. From t-shirts, mugs, cups, food, drinks door prizes at events, use of their facilities for caching and not so caching events, tour guides for special events and my favorite-the free boat ride/cave tours. All said and done the cave has graciously donated well into the thousands of dollars goods and services to the joy of caching. I am still working on things but the free boat rides/cave tour (vouchers you can use another day) will be given away to all pickers/pullers
The CITO event is being held along with the cave's invasive weed pull day. That provides a few unique opportunties.
If you want you can pick up trash, pull weeds or act as a guide to direct the pickers and pullers to the areas that need attention. If you want to be a guide message me so we can get the (training) out of the way. Guides get first crack at the boat rides.
I will post more as details develop.
If you want to take the free cave tour/boat ride you must preregister at the cave and fill out the release form
I'll post the link for the form as soon as the cave posts it.
Hope everyone can make it.
Gloves and trash bags will be provided
There is a very good chance (The Vette City Vixens) will come to help.
Right now I am expectiong at least one group of 200 pickers.
