Geocache Description:

This is a nice letterbox style cache (sorry no stamp) in a green oasis at the heart of Tel-Aviv

This is a nice letterbox style cache (sorry no stamp) in a green oasis at the heart of Tel-Aviv.

About the park:

The cache is located in Meir-Garden (Gan-meir) named after Meir Dizengoff Tel-Aviv's first Mayer. The garden like a lot of stories that connected to Dizengoff (See my  Where The Streets have NO NAME cache) has a unique story. When Dizengoff turned 70 the city decided to name a park in his name as a tribute, the city had a plan but 5 years later (1936) they haven’t even began working on the park. Dizengoff was furious and told them then that he doesn’t want any favors and he doesn’t need any park named after him. Over a decade later, 13 years after they decided to build the garden another famous Mayer of Tel-Aviv Rokach had successfully created the beautiful Meir-garden

Ok nice story, nice park but so how do I get to the cache ???

Just follow this 5 easy steps and you will find it:

Step 1: The starting coordinates will place you in one of the entrees to the garden right next to a nice closed dog park. In front of you about W-NW there is a nice boulevard which is shaded by trees. In the center of the boulevard there are wide wooden benches.  Walk W-NW and count exactly 8 wooden benches (only the ones in the middle of the boulevard)
Step 2: When you are standing in the 8th bench on one side(W-SW) you will see a nice coffee shop and also the central gay center of Tel-Aviv(sponsored by the city of Tel-Aviv). If you look NE-E you will see 2 ping-pong tables walk to the 2nd one.
Step 3: From the Ping-Pong table if you look E you will see a round pond go to the pond.
Step 4: circle the pond until you will see a path that heads back towards the dog park
Step 5: walk on the path until you will see on the grass 4-5 big cement circles south from the path.  Next to the circles you will see a lonely old thing that really sticks-out. This old thing is standing on a small hill if you insert your hand to fill his heart you will find the cache.

One more thing: The area is usually very crowded be Geo-Smart and please don’t blow revel the cache to muggles so it will last…
