Geocache Description:

Cape Perpetua Visitor Center is located on the site of an old Civilian Conservation Corps camp that was established in 1933. With an expansive deck set high above the coastline the visitor center is one of the best whale watching sites along the coast. Visiting during storm watching season? Watch all the action from the visitor center. With binoculars, chairs, and large windows they are ready to welcome you in any weather. California Gray Whales migrate through Oregon’s waters late in December on their migration to Baja California and return with calves in March on their way to feeding ground in Alaska. Keep a look out for spouts anytime from resident whales smart enough to make Oregon their home year round.
